Yes, LPs are alive and well in 2009.

 

There are numerous sources (mostly by catalog or website) that deal in
45 and LP vinyl records, both old and new.  I recently purchased several
new 180 gram vinyl LPs, and they sound fantastic.  What a pleasure it is
having a "real" album cover to look at when you are playing the music.
Did you know that 45s have a frequency range similar to digital music
CDs !
