[NJARC] Antenna results

Hi Scott,

I agree with Marty -- it's unlikely the filament winding is shorted. It's probably soemthing else. But anything is possible....try pulling all the tubes and see how it behaves. Carefully check the filament wiring. Somebody could have botched a previous repair.

You and I are both moving slowly (but surely) toward an HF QSO with vintage gear. This past weekend, I fired up a DX-60B with HG-10B VFO on 80M, with pre-amp D-104 mike, Johnson TR switch, and Murch antenna tuner. My 65-foot basement end-fed really SUCKS --- I can't get the SWR down, even *with* the tuner.

Also using a Heath HR-10B receiver, which has its limitations. It will soon be swapped out for a National NC-303.

Unfortunately, this is *not* good antenna-raising weather! ;-)

73,

JR
