Hi All-
I sent this originally to Jim Whartenby, and he suggested I run it past some of the hams on the NJARC list...
I had (a) question, as I think I may have misinterpreted the directions for the traps on my antenna: I looked at the schematic when building it, and it showed a 123pf capacitor parallel with the inductor. So I built a 123pf capacitor, using a 104pf and a 19pf or so set of caps, rated at 1kv & 500v. Now I was just rereading an article on traps, and it states the capacitance shown in the schematics refers to the capacitance of the cable coil itself... Did I screw up by installing a parallel set of caps in each side, which, if I remember correctly, would roughly double the capacitance of the trap? Would I be best served to go back and remove this additional capacitance?
I am receiving 80M ok, which is what the traps are for...
Thanks!
Scott
