[NJARC] Car Radio Schematic

John(and all), I am doing that most dastardly and horrific of things- I am CONVERTING a BC-348 to AM-FM...(Please read before condemning!)
Actually, I was asked a few months back by the Commemorative Air Force to repair a BC-348 they had picked up for their B-24 "Ol' 927"(Formerly "Diamond Lil"). They are reconstructing a decent approximation of their radio room, although that is where the passengers sit when they give rides. They wanted a somewhat correct radio in place, but also wanted to be able to use it for entertainment of their passengers. They thought they had a pretty well undisturbed radio. They sent pics- and it was modified, and I told them what it would need, but that I'd be happy to do the work.
They discussed the cost of repairs at their meeting, and decided they would rather convert it to AM/FM/MP3/Aircraft Radio/CD, and asked if I would be interested in doing the conversion. Well, I wasn't really interested in doing so- it goes against my principles of saving every old radio I can. I told them this, but also said to send it up, and I would take a look and see what I could do for them.
It arrived a couple weeks ago, and "it" was the right term. This radio was BADLY thrashed by a modifying ham at some point in its life- to the point of the usual items, plus a lot more, including ripping the mountings off the bottom of the case! It would have been a costly resurrection, and they could have gotten a new one for less money and time as far as the parts search goes. One look inside convinced me this was a future parts rig. So I started the conversion- first, took it to pieces- quite literally- it is down to about 5 major pieces I am reusing for the project: main chassis frame, side chassis pieces, faceplate, box and original knobs.
I have fully restored the faceplate and dataplate attached- it literally looks like new. I am now adapting a 1980 LTD/CV AM/FM into the frame- no small feat this. I am setting the tuning gang(not rotating plates, but diving tuning rods) into the spot the original tuner goes, with the attendant mods to operate it through the original tuning knob. I then have to modify the main board to fit in nearby. I would like to find where I can modify the circuit and adapt the amplifier section to accept different inputs- for the other media (MP3, AC radio, etc), and utilize it in that fashion- saving switching to the speaker circuits. I still have to modify/adapt a couple rotary switches to do the switching attached to the bandswitch, using the original 90 degree piece.(I had been kinda hoping to be able to hang onto that one, but I need it for a proper job!)
I am also rebuilding the box(although I had a neat idea about that) and building an FT-154 mounting for it. When done, it will look, from the outside, like a brand new unit, the only noticeable difference being the connector(s) at the back. And even then, you'd have to know what you are looking at! Once it is all together, and tested, I will be putting together a TM for them, and boxing it to look original.
Oh- and did I mention I also have to build a converter to take the power input from 24VDC to 12VDC?
Any help with a schematic would be great! I can't find one free(a deciding factor) on the internet, although I looked for an hour last night.
Thanks!
Scott
