[NJARC] Put Your Thinking Caps On

This is a great topic and project. With all such great ideas, the first step is to visit your library and find out from the reference librarian what others have written on this, either in book (histories of NJ written in the 1950s or 1960s will certainly refer to the highlights) or MA or PhD theses. Rutgers University has an ongoing project, Electronic New Jersey, www2.scc.rutgers.edu/njh/index.htm<http://www2.scc.rutgers.edu/njh/index.htm>, for the purpose of developing online content especially for students and teachers fulfilling core curriculum requirements in social studies and history. Within this site is a section on World War II, www2.scc.rutgers.edu/njh/wwII/<http://www2.scc.rutgers.edu/njh/wwII/>, and within that another one on industrial production: www2.scc.rutgers.edu/njh/wwII/production/<http://www2.scc.rutgers.edu/njh/wwII/production/>. This is not exactly what the group's been discussing but certainly complements the work online.

You could start discussing your project with a staff member through the site's Contact Us page. To get a student or two, you'll need to talk with a faculty advisor well before the semester starts, and this is a good time to get the ball rolling for either a summer or fall project. If InfoAge isn't already linked to the site, now's the time to connect, as any Rutgers student project will go there.

Best,

Alex
