Claude Kagan's famous barn in Pennington, NJ burned to the ground a
couple of days ago. Mr. Kagan was a Western Electric veteran, and was
a true old timer in the computer industry. His barn housed his
collection of interesting bits and pieces of technology. Arguably the
main attraction was his Burroughs B205 computer - one of the last
vacuum tube machines still out in the wild. While it was in fair
shape, Mr. Kagan was making plans to rescue it from the old barn. His
B205, a complete system, was completely tubed up - several thousand
tubes, plus about as many spares.

Mr. Kagan was completely unharmed, and continues to live in his fireproof house.
