Walt,

Anything decent today has to cost/be worth at least $20. It's the
season for giving after all.

If you have been to a few of these, you would have noticed that there
are always several items worth far in excess of $20. I can think
back - there was a real nice Tektronix scope easily worth a couple
hundred, and each year there are several nice restored radios worth
well over $50.

These are put into the game by folks that enjoy giving. They expect
nothing back except the enjoyment of watching their present being
passed from player to player, and the smiles on the faces of the
players. Most likely they end up with a $20-30 gift, and that's OK
with them. They expect nothing more.

So if you give a gift worth in the $20 range, you'll go home with one
worth just as much, and perhaps more.

If all the gifts are of little value, the game wouldn't be as much
fun, and perhaps have too many players. The more players, the longer
it takes to finish the game. (Twice as many players = four times as
long to play the game.)

And if you choose not to participate, you can still enjoy watching
the action. You don't have to play to have fun.

Gift cards should not be an acceptable gift as we are a radio club,
it should be a radio or radio related.

I'm looking forward to a great holiday evening with my friends,
John Dilks
