THE REAL QUESTION IS TO REJUVENATE OR NOT. YOU COULD POSSIBLY LOSE A RUBE THAT MAY STILL HAVE SOME DECENT LIE LEFT IN IT. THE PLDER TESTER/REJUVENATORS WERE THE CAUSE OF MANY TUBES BEING LOST. EITHER BY POOR DESIGN OR IMPROPERLY UDED. I HAVE OWNED A SENCORE CR-70 WHICH I PURCHASED NEW FOR $1000.00 IN THE EARLY 80'S. YOU HAVE TO OWN ONE OF THESE TO REALLY APPRECIATE WHAT A REALY REALLY GOOD TESTER. IS. SENCORE FOLLOWED THAT WITH A CR-700 WHICH HAS A BAR GRAPH FOR EACH GUN. TAKE A LOOK AT SENCORE ON EBAY AND YOU WILL SEE A LOTOF THEM BEING SOLD CHEAP DUE TO THE MERGENCE OF FLAT SCREEN TV'S. THE OTHER NICE FEATURE IS YOU DO NOT NEED A TON OF DIFFERENT ADAPTERS. IT HAS ABOUT 6 DUAL ADAPTERS PLUS A UNIVERSAL ADAPTER WITH MINI CLIPS.
SENCORE SUPORT IS EXCELLENT AND TOLL FREE. IF YOU HAVE A TUBE NOT LISTED IN THE SETUP MANUAL GIVE THEM A CALL AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE PROPER SETTINGS.

Of course you are probably right and what you describe does make sense. As I
said, it has been close to 50 years for me since I played with those as a
young teenager. Worked at a radio/TV repair shop in the late 50's and from

I think you are confusing a  "booster" with a rejuvenator. The rejuvinator
is a combination CRT tester and rejuvinator. It can burn off shorts made by
pieces of cathode coating that have flaked off. It also can renew the
surface of the cathode coating  by getting  rid of oxidation essentiall
bringing fresh material to the surface. This can bring a CRT back to like
new performance. It is less harmful than leaving a booster hanging on the
tube. The results were better with B+W tubes than color for long life. I
would think a Predicta would not be left to play for long periods these days
making tube life a non issue.
