[NJARC] Predicta Problem Found!

It has probably been close to 50 years since I played with a rejuvenator,
but, to the best of my recollection those were auto transformers, and hence
would not fix the short problem. A small isolation transformer however
would. I think any low voltage 1:1 transformer would be fine. Lacking that a
small transformer with dual filament outputs would also work. Just use the
filament windings and tape up the primary. I do not believe that the
Predictas used series filaments where actual filament resistance would be an
issue as well. Regards - Mike

As the Predicta has no space behind the crt, you would need to put an
isolating transformer remotely near the chassis. A crt rejeuvenator might
clear the short, but their is a (small) risk of ruining it completely. want
to try George? I have a nice Heathkit model.
