Hi Scott et al,

We have been using AM with vintage gear for our occasional attempts at communications.  

I've raised my antenna to 32 feet.  I still don't have a really good receiver.  

A few weeks ago my buddy and I made a contact between an AN/ARC-1 at my home and an AN/ARC-4 in my car at a distance of 2 miles.  

If you want to do repeaters, you'll need a vertical antenna so that your polarization matches the antennas at the repeaters.
