Hi John T./Folks,
An answer regarding John T's mystery tube, from a world-reknowned tube expert (yes, I'm being serious) and former NJARC tube chaplain:
That "has to be" RCA Victor at Camden, NJ. Remembering that at one time
(the UX-222 era), radios were usually sold less tubes, so it would be likely that finished sets were tested out with a set of tubes that never left the factory.
The "stolen" notation is a little crude. One can think of gentler ways to
phrase it.
I once found a UX-201A that had been acid-etched "Property of Atwater Kent
Manufacturing Company." I gave it to Ralph Williams, the AK collector.
