Someone asked me this question (below) and I thought that others may
have mis-read my intent on meeting times.....
No I don't expect to see the meeting end at 9, but if they started on
time and the main program was near first on the list, then those of
us who want to leave around 9 could do so.

One more comment about 'near first on the list'. ... from my own
experience, not that this has happened here an NJARC...
I speak occasionally at various ham club meetings. On a few of
occasions I went to speak, drug a lot of show-and-tell items with me,
got there early to set up; only to find they made me sit through a
long business meeting while they argued the fine points of
'non-important' items - and sometimes they made me wait even longer
while they had coffee and donuts after the business meeting. Once I
just got up and left without speaking. This was after I had asked
before hand to speak early, because I had a 2-hour drive home. Also,
if the speaker starts late, some members get up and leave the meeting
because it is late, and some seem gather and talk in the rear of the
room distracting others.
Usually speakers spend time in advance preparing their talk and
bringing items to talk about. We need to remember this and be
courteous to them by having them speak at a time they want. They deserve this.
