[NJARC] DC Power in NYC?

  I did not realize that, until very recently, Con Edison was supplying DC power (a la Edison) in Manhattan. Who knew? This NY Times blog link was found on the RAR+P (rec.antiques.radio+phono) newsgroup and falls into an AC vs DC debate in the comments area.. Still, something to ponder during a heat wave...
