Joe,

For the benefit of our radio audience I'm responding through the reflector to your query rather than
offline.

In response to your request regarding Arthur L. Munzig's book, I checked our collections and turned
up nothing. Then I googled his unusual name in quotes and got four hits. Someone by that name had
a radio station in 1920 and apparently someone else with that name was responsible for creating
"Monty," the human Montezuma mascot for San Diego State University, in 1933. The wife of one of
these Munzigs, or perhaps a son (Jr.), was a president in 1960 of Childrens Chain, an ongoing
charity.

Searching Google Books, I turned up the citation for the full title, R9 sigs! Angle radiation
(books.google.com/books?id=-kZDAAAAIAAJ&pgis=1). This does not, alas, give full access to the
book. A search inside the book, which is not apparently available even for glimpses, gives no
recognition of the term "sloper."

However it is available at two libraries: the Library of Congress (naturally) and U Cal Berkeley
(worldcat.org/wcpa/oclc/29579977). You might try your local library to see if it has Interlibrary
Loan (ILL) access to Berkeley; you might be pleasantly surprised. The book itself is only 46 pages,
and if you contacted the Berkeley Reference Desk (bancroft.berkeley.edu/reference/dsu/) directly and
offered to pay for photocopies (or repeated Google's PDF variant), you might also strike paydirt.
Or, if you knew a friend in the area or in Washington, DC, he or she could do it for you. The
Berkeley Library is undergoing some construction, however, so it may not be immediately available in
any case.

cheers,

Alex
