Ok, Marty! So you (and Rich and Aaron, as well) have all persuaded me to give it a try.  I've nothing to lose and much to gain - successful or not.  I will try unwinding/repairing/rewinding with what I've got since I've no replacement wire on hand.  If I were to get replacement wire, what do you suggest and can you name a good supply source?
