Lisa,

  I can confirm what Marty describes. I found a non-working Philco 70 by the roadside. After bringing it to a club clinic the main problem Marty found was an intermittent break in the IF coil. Marty suggested rewinding the coil by hand. After a few slippery attempts I was able to rewind it and Voila - it worked! Patience is needed - your mileage may vary...
