Marv's point is well taken. Here is what I do with my pictures....
I take them in the highest resolution possible, then I put them thru a photo 
editing process by cropping, and slight changes in brightness and contrast. 
Then if I want to use them for a lower resolution, read (small) picture, I 
resize and save as a .jpg with a different name.
