Marv, 

Was that me who was giving you a hard time? I still think it's better to
shoot decent resolution photos rather than limit ourselves unnecessarily.
We never know what we might want to do with the pictures in the future
and you can always down-rez but you will never be able to get back
resolution you gave away.  I seem to be a little forgetful any more,
especially when it comes to remembering obscure setting on my camera, so
I can never seem to remember how to reprogram my camera's resolution,
especially when I need to do it quickly.

As with many things web, no money actually need be involved. You can
download a program named Irfanview which will resize and convert photos
as well as Photoshop will, and it's free. Or you can use one of the
web-based services like resize2mail.com/ which will do the job without
you even having to install any software.  If you regularly  resize
photos, you can create a macro in Photoshop and many of the other
programs to do any number at one time with a single click. Can't get much
easier than that.
