[NJARC] 7094 Tetrode Tube

Scott,
         I've been trying to do a search for a usable substitute for the 
7094 that could be done with a minimum of modification, etc, and so far 
haven't come up with a recommendation for you. I'm still trying. I've based 
my search mainly on something you could use with the existing sockets you 
have for the 7094. The Amperex AX-9903/5894 may fit the socket, but the tube 
parameters are so very different; I wouldn't waste my time with them. (It 
just so happens I have a pair of 5894's I could give you. I'm also basing my 
search on what I have in my inventory I could provide you with for free.)

Look at the 7094 as a 813 without a base, (a footless valve, mind you) and 
you have a general idea of what the tube can do. The 7094 is a "high 
perveance" tube, which basically means it can make lots of power (500W input 
with only 1500VDC plate voltage and little drive), much like the 7 pin jumbo 
based 813.

If I come up with anything I'll let you know. I'm not optimistic though, and 
would pursue the seller with a vengance to provide you with good tubes, 
which you paid for in the first place.

Did the seller specifically mention the HT-41 you bought came without it's 
tubes? If so, you have no recourse. If he absently mindedly forgot to tell 
you - hi hi hi!, you may still have something to go on, since the tubeless 
state of the amp was concealed, and should have been divuldged to the 
seller. Just my spin on things.

Like John Dilks, I'd like to know who the seller was, and if found to be one 
of the better known "radio rugmerchants", I'd pursue him and tell him he'll 
have his day in court. Scumbags like this deserve to be brought to justice!
