Remember the video that we saw a few meetings ago of someone making his 
own tubes?

Well, the AWA magazine has an article about it - the builder's name is 
Claude Paillard, and
he has been building some fairly complex things for a long time (as if 
it wasn't obvious from
looking at the video).  As he says on his website, when he built radio 
controlled models in
the fifties, he even made it "... a point of honor to build even the 
motor to  propel a boat."
according to the translation of the AWA author, Dick Parks.
