Hi Rob,

Of course, you make a *very* good point.

When myself and others lament the "downhill" trend of
hamfests, we're just reflecting reality.

Hamfests are still good, and they're still fun. But
they are not -- and never will be -- what they were
pre-Internet, and especially pre-Ebay. That's just
life.

Sussex is the only hamfest that I go to that really
feels anything like a pre-Internet/Ebay hamfest.

I've often been amused when I overhear conversations
at the *same* hamfest where one guys says "this
hamfest sucks!" and a nearby conversation someone is
saying "Wow! What a great hamfest! I sold all my
stuff!" or "Wow! Look at this great bargain I got!"

If I'm happy with how well I sold and/or bought, then
it's a good day. It doesn't matter if, in some cases,
the hamfest is a mere shadow of its former self. Read:
Mullica Hill.

The point is, a BAD day at a hamfest still beats a
GOOD day at work. And today is NOT a good day at work.
;-)

Regards,

JR
