Joe: Glad you cleared up the issue of what transmitters went with the BC-348. I was about to add to your history discourse. While the Collins autotune transmitter is a wonderful unit and a product of our rapidly advancing technology after WWII started it was a "Johnny Come Lately" to the bomber fleet. Early on, all heavy bombers were outfitted with the venerable BC-375 (BC-191 on the ground), a veteran of mid 1930's development that for nothing else was more impressive looking and provided more heat for the radio room. How many hams after the war got pink slips when they could not figure out how to keep them on frequency (not that they were ever that stable). Most are scrap now or full of home modifications. I had a few ART-13's in the past but always came back to the BC-375; who could resist the glow from those four VT-4's when they were lit up.
BTW, there is an ART-13 currently on e-Bay, 220164985353 located in VA, doesn't look too bad and it has the LF unit. Navy model 52286, the dyno that is offered with it is not correct. Probably will go for big bucks.
