[NJARC] A few general things...

Scott,
The original Heathkit "Cantenna" used oil that was PCB laden. A lot
of these original cantennas still exist. If you accidentally get any of the
oil on your skin, it could be a cancer risk.
Another problem (that you probably won't have). The Cantennas are rated at
1KW for a very limited period of time. If you pump more than that into it
for a prolonged period of time (as yours truly has), the oil inside the can
will actually start to boil, causing pressure, and will eventually blow the
top off the can causing boiling carcenogenic oil to spread all over the
room. Needless to say this can be a safety hazard. The lid has a safety vent
on it that can become clogged over the years, hence forth the build up of
pressure inside.
I don't have a spare "Cantenna", but you're welcome to borrow the one I have
for your testing purposes. If you'd like to use it whilst testing your
equipment, please let me know. The oil inside has been replaced with newer
oil - hi!
Mod-U-Later,
Joe Cro N3IBX
