Hello all,

This weekend I saw an old TV for sale at a flea market and the price was so low I couldn’t resist myself. The set is a RCA Victor TG-167 chassis number KSC40A. I checked the Sam’s Photofact for it and that seems to indicate it is a 1950 maybe a 1949.

So this gives rise to a host of topical questions. For one I have no idea if the picture tube works. So I do not know if it is worth me investing any money into bringing it back online. I assume most of the rest of the parts are obtainable. Is this true? Also does anyone know what the set is worth in general terms so I get an idea how much I should be willing to invest to gain it second life? And does anyone have any tips on how to proceed? It looks like it could be fun. The cabinet is actually in good shape.

Edward
