Ed,

If the pins are oxidized, you're going to have the
same problem with a tube tester as in the radio. But
of course, the tube could be bad. As you gain more
experience, you'll be surprised at how *few* tubes are
actually bad in old radios.

Also, you mentioned that you were going to "order"
capacitors. I'm the "capacitor guy" for the NJARC, so
if you can wait until the next meeting, I can help you
out. Just let me know what you need. I guess it
depends on how anxious you are to get started.
Obviously, if you have other sources for caps, that's
up to you.
