There were several kits available right after the war. The most popular was
the Transvision:

I recently reported on a radio kit I had repaired from the 1940s. I was
talking to a relative who told me about a friend that built a TV from a kit
right after WWll. He said it had a very small screen but the kit building
was successful as they used to watch the 'fights' on it back when they were
on network TV. This really surprised me. Does anyone had information on
post war TV kits? Would like to hear some comments. Nick Senker
