All,

Im not certain if anybody in the club has had dealings with or has ever
spoken to Joel Thorner of the Turntable Factory. Joel has run what probably is
the largest and most sucessful turntable and record changer service busnesses
in the country for the last 10 years. Joel lived and loved HI-FI. He had been
involved in the phonogrpah busness since the late 60s. He began fixing
turntables at the age of 7. I personally met Joel about 8 years ago. We became
friendly, and have remained so ever since. After a long illness and a battle with
respratory disease, Joel passed away yesterday evening, after putting in a full
day's work, rebuilding a Dual 1019, he took a nap and never awoke. Joel left
this world, still running his busness and doing what he loved to do, that was
preserving and restoring vintage record playing equipment. He taught his craft
to any young person, who wanted to know. He often fixed equipment for young
people, free of charge, just because he wanted to encourage their interest in
the vinyl hobby. He will be missed by all who knew him. I figured I'd pass this
info on, in case anybody in the club knew Joel, and would want to know.

                                                              Darren
