[NJARC] "Help"

Steve,
What type of antenna is Lenny using? Does he have a signal
generator to inject a signal other than the local station into the radio?

One possibility other than a tube would be that one of the paper capacitors,
especially if original, went bad. My guess is the radio (which I saw and
thought to be extremely nice!) was built in 1931 or 32, and if all of the
original paper caps haven't been renewed, it would be a good idea to do so.
One could be preventing a stage from working, hence the lessened
sensitivity.

If he can gain access to a tube tester, that would be a good thing. If he
lives near me, he's welcome to come over and I'll test the tubes with a TV-7
that I have.

Best Regards,
                    Joe Cro N3IBX
