[NJARC] AK89

[VOURTSIS, PHIL, ATTSI]

I just finished restoring an AK89 highboy. I've got the radio working
nicely but there is one strange thing.
If I connect an antenna wire at the antenna terminal I get moderate
volume. But if I connect to the grid cap
of the 1st detector (35) I get much better reception. I've also noticed
this on a GE set I worked recently on.
What would cause this?
