Hello Group,
I have been trying to bring my US Radio and Television Corp Chassis 1007
back online and I have encounter a difficult problem. A set of coils is
open. It seems this was a problem before and someone before me did a solder
job and a tape up. Well it is broken again. The set of coils in question is
between the RF Amp and the 1st Detector. I am guessing it would be called
the 1st Detector coil. The input side is 7 ohms and the output to the 1st
detector side is 6 Ohms. The schematic does not grant me a part number.
So I started by removing the little guy (carefully) and unwrapped it and
found one of the opens. The problem is that once connected it measures only
1 Ohm not about 6 or 7. I figure the repairman before me just did a few
windings and was off and running. But wouldn't this affect the signal
transfer being so low in ohms? I was going to continue but now I am
wondering what it is I should do. What if the other side is 6 or 7 Ohms or
what if it is only 1?
I guess the larger question is does anyone have some scrap coils they can
sell me that would be a similar match?
Edward
