Tom,

I wonder if you've overreacted to this? eBay's policy seems to be a
little fuzzy on the subject. They ban any items which "promote or glorify
hatred, violence, racial or religious intolerance, or items that promote
organizations with such views." I assume that a contemporary bumper
sticker sporting a swastika would fall into that category, but I'm not so
sure that it applies to collectible radios. I'm no fan of the Nazis, but
I've always assumed that collecting propaganda radios was a legitimate
part of radio history preservation.

So now I'm curious and here's a question for our members: What DO we
think about collecting Nazi radios?

By the way, I was recently working in Wilmington Delaware and was
startled to notice what appeared to be a Nazi symbol on the entablature
of an historic building we were photographing. At the time I didn't know
that the swastika was an ancient symbol, usually with positive religious
connotations. I've been told that it's also part of the decorative design
of the New Jersey Statehouse building. Obviously in the late 1930s the
design suffered a rapid decline in popularity! I posted some pictures I
took of the building in Delaware on my website at
sicaproductions.com/misc Despite what I've learned about the history of
the symbol, the artwork in the picture still looks creepy to me!
