John
I checked the Rider and Gernsback schematics for values and none are
given for the speaker.
I next checked resistances of a couple of speakers I have, an AK and GE.
The field coil or electromagnet measures about 1,000 ohms.
The input winding to the output transformer measured about 500 ohms on
the GE, none was with the AK.
The voice coil on the AK measured at 2 ohms and about the same on the GE
with the output transformer connected. To properly check if a voice
coil or output winding is open, you would have to disconnect one of the
leads to open the loop.
I also checked values on a Philco speaker I have and found values
ranging from 30 to 80 k (80,000) ohms and flucuating. This means the
windings are open.
On finding another speaker, my guess is you would have to search the web
to see if anyone lists one for sale and watch eBay.
