I believe it was Mark Twain who said something to the effect of "I
apologize for writing such a long letter, but I just didn't have time to
write a shorter one." My first goal was to get some photos posted in a
timely manner. After that, I hope to cull, organize and caption them.
Hah! We'll see if that day ever comes.
There may be more scanning disc cameras and monitors at the Early
Television Museum than anywhere else on earth. They have the only
operating scanning disc camera/receiver setup that I know of, and in fact
visitors to the museum can telecast themselves from one room to another!
Photos of the equipment are available on the museum website
www.earlytelevision.org and on the CD that the foundation sells. For
purposes of this collection of photos, we tried to focus on the event and
the people at the event, even while most of the photographers were busy
being distracted by the cornucopia of various collectible rarities.
