Things are shaping up for the transfer ceremony at InfoAge on Saturday
the 1st of April. The cottage will be open but the main activities will
center around the hotel. We have four rooms in the hotel for temporary
displays, all are about 12' x 12'. One room is specifically for NJARC
and will have radio displays separate from the cottage. The radio
display at IEEE Operations Center in Piscataway has been taken down (yes
it's been just about a year) and some of it will be used at the hotel.
Those of you who loaned items (J. Dilks, R. Flory, M. Beeferman) can
check with me to pick up your items. Let me know if you have any
objection to possibly using some of them for the April 1st display at
the hotel. It is only basically a weekend display. I could use the
short term loan of a really nice working console radio preferably one
with a tuning eye. I already have one console committed but there is
room for two and we will be broadcasting vintage programs through them.
Let me know and I will coordinate pickup or delivery.
The other three rooms at the hotel are for vintage military radio &
radar display.
The program is from 10 AM to 5 PM with the formal ceremony at noon.
Before and after the ceremony, visitors can tour the cottages and the
Diana site. We will need plenty of volunteers to man the cottage and
the displays so let's hear it from those who can help.
Between now and then, there is almost constant work being done at the
hotel and grounds to paint, clean up, etc., etc. so if you have any time
to spare let me or Steve Goulart or Phil know. This coming weekend will
be an intensive work schedule.
Ray
