Joe:

I have a Hallicrafter's SX-28 Super Skyrider. Does that meet your criteria
for a boat anchor? It is very heavy. I could bring it to Parsippany, if it
was worth my while. It is not the kind of thing you lug around incase you
might sell it. You can contact me at w.d.radio at miked.org if you want to
discuss it.

Thanks,

Bill Dunphy

I am looking to buy general-coverage boatanchors, the heavier the
better! I prefer that they be in working condition, but pristine
cosmetics are not essential. I like to restore them and use them for
SWLing. If you have anything like that for sale, please contact me. I'm
interested in anything from R-390s on downward.

I will be at the Parsippany swapmeet later this month. However, I know
that a lot of sellers don't like to bring boatanchors to indoor
swapmeets because of the amount of lugging involved. If you contact me,
maybe we can strike a deal beforehand.

I am not trying to bypass the swapmeet. I will be there and I intend to
pay the buyer's fee. NJARC runs excellent shows and deserves its
reasonable fees. Plus, it's a great chance to meet some nice guys who
know a whole lot about old radios (or, as my wife would put it, other
nuts just like me). The wild card, as always, is that I might just find
that treasure I've been looking for for years!

Thanks in advance.

 Joe Connor
