Hi,
June 24 and 25 are the dates for this year's Field Day, an exercise in
emergency communications. I plan to deploy TBX, TBY, and TCS units in the
field somewhere around Hopewell, and TCK/RBB and Johnson Ranger/RBK at
home. Emergency power at field station will consist of battery,
hand-cranked generator, gasoline generator, and photovoltaic array. The
home station will run on commercial power. A mix of AM and CW will be
used. CW primarily for comms with the wider world.
I plan to let visitors to the field station send 50- letter messages via
TBX to the home station, for delivery in real time, or later through
traffic nets. The catch is they have to crank the TBX, or talk someone
into doing it for them. The TCS station will be for communicating with the
wider world.
I have to work on Saturday, so I am thinking of doing this on Sunday from
morning to the end of the fun, or the end of the event at 4:00 , whichever
comes first.
You are invited. RSVP
