Subject: 1924 International Radio Broadcast Test - Arthur H. Lynch
Dear Sirs,
If this is an unwelcome intrusion, please forgive me!
First, I am not an antique radio collector. I found your website with a
Google search for Antique Radio Clubs.
I am looking for information. I am located in Morris County NJ.
Ive come into possession of a very old radio. The radio is approx 42 long
by 9 wide by 9 deep. It has a wood case with a full length piano-hinged
top. It is fully lined in copper, which is still very bright. The radio is
quite heavy
Id estimate it at 35-50 pounds. The radio has no manufactures
markings that I can locate.
Inside the radio I found an old 5 by 6 card that reads:
November 24, 1924 November 30, 1924
INTERNATIONAL RADIO BROADCAST TEST
Under the Auspices of Radio Broadcast Magazine
This Certified That {hand written, perhaps by Mr. Lynch?} H. W. Schroeder
{who I know is Harold Wilmer Schroeder}
Located at {hand written} 7 Overland Rd, Caldwell NJ
Has assisted and participated in the International Radio Test, and that
information received and checked at Radio Broadcast Laboratory
(Head-quarters of the Test) indicates the successful reception of test
programs from cooperating European Stations.
Arthur H. Lynch
Director, International Tests
Editor Radio Broadcast
Garden City, New York
December 1924
Id appreciate any details, information or insights about this radio, or the
1924 Test, that your membership could provide.
I can provide by email detailed photos, however I did not want to send them
on without first checking if you were interested.
If you would like copies of the pictures of the over-all radio, close-ups of
the dials and knobs, close-ups of the interior electronics, and of the
Arthur H Lynch card, please just Reply
Again, if this is an unwelcome intrusion I apologize and there is no need to
respond.
Thank you for your time,
Russell
