If my new prospective volunteer for scanning works out, now that AT&T's
re-gain of Phil is our loss, Charles Jennings's history of
telecommunications in Japan, 1945-2000, will go on our website's online
library sometime this fall.  But in glancing through it, the role of
hams is exceedingly small.

I haven't come across anything that indicates Jennings went on the air
himself; instead of radio he was a fan of sumo wrestling and the Yakult
Swallows besoboru team, which won the Japan Series shortly before he
returned to New Jersey.
