[NJARC] FM'ing

Hi All:

Been hearing a lot about the problem of FM'ing when an oscillator is 
modulated.
Darn if I can find any text info on the subject..

Questions:
1.  How is this exactly caused?
2.  How is it measured?
3.  How bad is it?
4.  What circuit changes can minimize it?

I'll eventually 'see' all this for myself on my 849 modulated 204A...but I 
need to get educated on the matter...as I'm dumb enough to think that a circuit 
similar to an AVC control might be of some help...and...maybe placing a 
handful of 0D3's and the like might be useful...

If not...guess I'll have to change the tank circuit for 88 to 108 Mc 
....where FM'ing is legal....
