[NJARC] It's the end for Marconi - Shareholders approve Marconi sale

Marconi shareholders have approved the £1.2bn 
($2.1bn) sale of the company's name and most of 
its assets to telecoms firm Ericsson.

The Swedish firm will now acquire Marconi's 
telecoms equipment and international services 
businesses, which have around 6,670 staff.

Ericsson has said that job cuts are 
"unavoidable", with 1,000 posts in the UK and abroad at risk.
