[NJARC] Closing, A Store Near You

Interesting thread about Radio Shack, I go into a local one a few times,
seldom find what I want. Once I was looking for dial cord (knew I had
plenty at home but for the life of me I could not find it and had a rush
job so thought I'd buy a roll). Couldn't find any and asked the 20'ish
geek clerk and he could not understand what dial cord was and no matter
how I tried to explain what it was used for he just rolled his eyes.
Boy did that make me feel old.
Glad someone mentioned Greenbrook Electronics. The last of a dying
breed. There also used to be Lashin's in Denville, don't know if they
are still around. Anyway, Greenbrook does still have anything you need
including some blank chassis and even some manufacturers surplus bins
like Federated and Lafayette used to have. I find the prices high at
Greenbrook but if you need it today where else are you going to go?
Fortunately I live close by and fortunately I have a large stock of
parts and seldom need to buy something. How long will Greenbrook last,
the guys who work there look pretty long in the tooth as well. Lately
when I get the bug to build something I check my own stock and if I
don't have the parts for it I think up something else to work on.
