Well, sure enough, it was registered by GE in 1956,
and actually appears (as "2B3") in the "Essential
Characteristics" book: 1.75 V @ 250 mA,
27 kV pIV, 500 µA out. Don't believe I've ever
seen one.
The 1960 "Radio's Master" catalog shows Blonder-
Tongue Labs offering an industrial-TV camera and
monitor, which might explain use of the 2B3. They
were a very agile company - not just television, but
offering a line of mono tube-audio gear at the time.
Ben Tongue is a TCA member to this day.
