Hi Al,
Are you saying that I should abandon the attempt to clean up my reception when I use the internal ferrite antenna on AC power?
Does my source of power, battery or AC, have nothing to do with what you and Bob are describing, or is it the antenna and stray interference that is inherent in my house that is causing my problem?
Both you and Bob say to use a shielded lead-in (coaxial) and use my 75 foot
insulated antenna instead of the internal one. Yes?
I'll need help on the connection of the coaxial shielded wire to my external
antenna and then into the two available connections I mention below.
Right now I use a insulated wire antenna ( which works pretty well with SW and AM) crimped to a PL-259 connector that screws into the back of my radio. The radio also has a compression terminal type connector that I can crimp a 500 Ohm two line wire to.
Your other point - What brand and model active antenna is used at the cottage? May be this is a viable alternative.
Thank you from a former lifelong accountant,
Jim Curione
