Special thanks to the club members that participated in the Trenton
Computerfest NJARC display.
They are Al Klase, Dave Sica, Steve Goulart, John Tyminski, Phil Vourtsis,
and Mark. (I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember his last name despite the
fact Mark was wearing a name tag all day.
There was a nice blend of wooden and Bakelite radios, portables from the
40s and 50s, nicely enclosed transistor radios, vintage televisions, test
equipment, tubes and phonographs. At least a hundred flyers were given out
and there were a lot of smiles on the faces of those approaching our
display.
There were also the trials and tribulations that seem to come with this
event. The room we were promised for display was not provided. This forced
us to set up on the main floor, which is a blessing because of the increased
traffic. We were informed we would have to pay for an entry ticket ($12
each). We all refused and they relented. I reminded them of the problem of
finding the correct building on the campus last year and was assured that
there were more signs this year. I followed the signs and landed up exiting
the campus! After all these issues were straightened out, we all had a great
time and I'm sure there will be new faces at our next meeting. Thanks again
for your support.
