I am sorry I have been absent for a while. Just too much family and workv  
activity to do it all.
 
I thought I would offer a possible solution.
 
"Free" radio repair up to a certain point such as a half hour. Beyond that  
here is a list of members that do repairs for money.
 
Or you could cut the radio in half and give part to the club and part  to the 
person who brings it in. If they decide to let the club have the radio  
intact rather than destroy it, fix it for free no mater what.
