Hello out there in internet/radio land,

Once again we're moving ahead with our War of the Worlds theatrical
broadcast. The Hunterdon Radio Theatre (www.hrtonline.org/welcome.html)
is already rehearsing with a cast of 22 and will provide the voices,
sound effects, and modern mikes (if need be) to the mixing board. We've
commissioned the state's leading special events planners
(www.kmaevents.com/about/overview.htm) to handle PR and tickets, and
should have the details nailed down next week. We are planning a
matinee which we'll try to cater to the retirement communities and
children.

The outstanding questions are these. Do the club's members still have
    a. 14 working 1930s radios to set up around the auditorium;
    b. 4 1930s mikes?

As for the mixer and 1-tube transmitter to fit in the corner, I have
a 4-mike mixer and the "Lil 7" that Sal Brisindi kindly made and donated
to the Library but remember the antenna being somewhat larger than the
one Sal has connected to the black box.

And finally, is there one noble soul, to serve as production
engineer, and two assistants?

Everyone contributed wonderful receivers and mikes (even without an
RCA 77 in the bunch), along with the Simkins's posters, and Al Klase did
yeoman work in making it all hang together, assisted by yeoman's mate
Dave Snellman. But if I am correct in understanding that Al is
thoroughly busy in his real job, who would be willing to make this all
fit together smoothly the night (and afternoon) the Martians landed in
Grovers Mill?

    best,
Alex
