Hi,
I am looking for a loan of a reliable, late 30s tabletop AM radio to play
at Howell Farm for our "Back to the Future" program this Saturday. I'll be
broadcasting a show called, "Dawn Launch of the Wildcats" describing
aircraft carrier operations in WWII. The theme this year is Home Front
WWII, and since I am telling the story of the Trenton GM plant's role in
building the TBM Avenger torpedo bomber, the show connects well, as they
launch Avengers as well as Wildcats in the show.
I could collect a radio at the meeting on Friday.
If it was made by RCA, so much the better, as I will have a display about
RCA as well.
Also featured on Saturday will be tours of a 1940s chicken farm, field work
with 1940 Farmall and John Deere tractors, and more.
The program is called "Back to the Future", because we usually show 1900,
so WWII is still in the future from our normal time period.
