[NJARC] Armstrong Test Transmission (More)

On the air RIGHT NOW on 42.8MHz, wide-band FM.  This is 
station WB2XMN.  See:  http://www.arrl.org/?news_list_off=30
Antenna is on the 400-foot level of the Armstrong Tower in 
Alpine, NJ.  TX power is 250-watts.  Scheduled comerative 
transmissions will be on 11-12 June.  Steve says starting 
about noon.

I'm really surprised how strong the sigs are and how well 
the old gear is working.  Things are not quite dead quiet, 
but the signal is listenable.

Quarter wave is about 5 and a half feet, so a little wire 
goes a long way.
