NJARC Hams,
There was some talk at Saturday's clinic about old-time AM
operation on the 2-meter ham band. I think we ought to give
this a try. One suggestion was that we could show up at the
picnic/meet at Infoage on Sept. 10 with radios in tow. I
also think there may be a possibility that some limited
number of us could work simplex from our homes.
Anyway, we need to pick a frequency, as most of these sets
are crystal controlled. I couldn't find anything definitive
on the web. 144.4 might be OK. There's a New England Am NET
ON 144.425. Any suggestions?
I have a Gonset Communicator III that should be usable, and
I think my Yaesu FT-817 will do AM, but probably only a watt.
73,
Al
