[NJARC] Resistor question.

The size of the newer film (carbon or metal) resistors is so much smaller
then what you usually find in tube radios that even a higher wattage
resistor should be no problem. It is amazing to see how uncluttered a
chassis is after replacing capacitors and out of tolerance resistors!
Especially when you use disk ceramics in place of the old paper
capacitors.

I just reworked a wood cased radio which had no speaker. It seems a
budding technician removed it when he was about 12 years old. I went to
Radio shack to look for a six inch round speaker but found none.
Wall-Mart was the answer. A six inch general purpose was available for
under $10.00
Who would of thunk? Sounded great too.
Regards,
Jim
